Our client Jamie, is preparing her house for sale. She has asked us to help her stage it. Our first task was her bathroom which we completed
here.
This weekend we completed our second room, her photography studio.
As you can see the room was a neutral, but it felt dark.
She has a lot of props & not much storage. So storage was a must!
In addition to a studio, she needed a place for her kids to hang out. At night while she edits photos, her 3 kids watch TV in the same space and hang out with their Mom.
She really wanted something bright, sassy, and fun, so we were happy to deliver.
We chose the paint color Yellow Grass B30-4 from Ace.
We scored two amazing chairs at a junk store. They go quite well together & set the entire tone for the room. They also provide seating for her kids at night & also her clients as they wait for their photo shoot. Top it off, these are lighter than a couch so she can drag them over to her set to use as props as well!
We took an existing armoire she owned & painted it a poppy cornflower blue. Inside it holds blankets & we put up a rod for all her tutus. The top has storage bins to hold all her baby hats & bows.
Her entry area is the seating area across from her desk. She requested a mirror for her clients so we found a fabulous one just for that. The cornflower blue side table she owned & looks great with a fresh coat of paint. It holds two smaller storage bins filled with photo props. She also owned the two smaller drawer cabinets along the wall. She has a lot of photography items in these drawers stowed away. They were a must keep for storage.
For behind her desk we needed some appropriate art. We bought a gob of frames at the dollar store & spray painted them in fun bright colors. It was a cheap way to make a big impact on this wall. We also spray painted her bulletin board to make it more cohesive in the room. We also painted an existing table robin egg blue & put her boas in a basket under the table. This girl has a lot of boas!
We arranged the frames on the floor first in a pattern we liked & then hung them on the wall. Scrapbook glue dots stuck on the backs of the frames helps to keep them always perfectly straight!
In the waiting area, we also found this decal on Etsy - perfect for a photography studio.
Jamie was thrilled with the afters & we were as well. The entire environment has changed. It feels bright and cheery & perfect for a photography studio.
